Blakeney grew up in Berkeley, CA where she states her city’s hippie culture helped foster her aesthetic expression. Growing up, her parents understood the spirit of the arts. She painted murals in her room, sewed her own curtains, and was allowed to move furniture around the house and experiment and figure out the lessons of trial and error.
Blakeney prides herself over her fun and vibrant collections. Her joy and fun in decorating other people’s homes with her collections is what she loves the most. Blakeney wants to express the enjoyment and originality that she puts into her collections and liven up everyone's home. To bring a piece of her into someone's home is bringing a part of her creativity into their life.

Blakeney’s goal for all her area rugs is to keep her artistic creativity in-tact with the colors and designs she has chosen. Her collections are primarily made through hand-tufted or hand-woven methods in China and India to allow the patterns and comfort to come to life in everyone’s home. With tufting, the manufacturer is able to make multiple loops without the use of a machine to create the rugs that are desired. This results in a great durable rug that is cost efficient and beautiful for everyone.
